1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the CmdVault Desktop application, CLI tools, or cloud synchronization relay services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the software.
2. License and Ownership
CmdVault is distributed as open-source software under the MIT License. You are free to inspect, modify, and distribute the codebase in accordance with the MIT License terms. However, any commercial services, hosted synchronization relays, or proprietary plug-ins provided directly by CmdVault remain the intellectual property of CmdVault and its authors.
3. Local-First Architecture & Responsibility
You acknowledge that CmdVault is built primarily as a local-first utility. Your command recipes, parameters, and passwords are encrypted locally on your system. You are solely responsible for:
- Securing your master password (which we cannot retrieve or reset).
- Backing up your encrypted local database files.
- Configuring self-hosted sync relay servers securely if you choose not to use the public relay.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use CmdVault to store, share, or execute command recipes designed to exploit, damage, or compromise computer systems, networks, or digital assets without authorization.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE.
